What is Sublimation?

Sublimation quickly appeared as the obvious choice for our production. It is the only printing process perfectly adapted to our philosophy, and fabric is the only suitable material. As a result, we provide : superior quality of prints and materials, an eco-friendly process and the freedom for the development of machines and materials.

Sublimation ink is unique in its ability to convert from a solid to a gas without going through a liquid form. The conversion is initiated by heat and controlled with pressure and time. The high temperature – from a calander – opens the pores of the polymer and allows the gas to enter. When the temperature drops, the pores close and the gas reverts to a solid state. The print then becomes part of the polymer.

The inks are water-based.  They release no COV. This is a really important factor, especially for public indoor spaces : hotels, in catering, hospitals, events, museums, interior decoration,…

Sublimation inks are odourless, without any solvent or dangerous products. It is not only the most respectful printing process for the environment, but also the most respectful for the well-being and health of the user.
